Amélie Mauresmo defeated Jennifer Capriati in the final, 6–4, 2–6, 6–3 to win the singles tennis title at the 2001 WTA German Open.[1][2]

Conchita Martínez was the reigning champion, but lost in the quarterfinals to Capriati.[3]
